Philip Toplis is one of the most experienced gynaecologists practising in the home counties today.
He has subspeciality expertise in incontinence and prolapse surgery, also laparoscopy and hysteroscopy minimal access techniques for endometriosis and menstrual problems.
Philip qualified in 1973 and subsequently trained in general surgery and urology before further specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital for Women, Guy’s and Charing Cross Hospitals London, the M.D. Anderson Houston, Texas and the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. He undertook his degree at Bristol University, became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1979, Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1980 and was awarded Fellowship in 1993.
Philip is senior gynaecologist and clinical director at Frimley Park Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, lead clinician for urogynaecology and colposcopy, Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists preceptor for hysteroscopic surgery and BSCCP accredited colposcopy tutor. He is an examiner for the Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and Final M.B. examinations University of Southampton.
